For the past twenty years, Benny has performed in a diverse set of musical groups and engagements, ranging from orchestra pits to cruise ships to featured artist and soloist at numerous venues across the country and abroad.
Benny is well versed in the many styles and genres of popular and classical music and specializes in jazz performance. He is steeped in the tradition of many of the past greats including Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley, Jackie McLean, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. His improvisations on the Alto Saxophone are reminiscent of these greats, yet he has a distinct style and voice of his own. Benny is a true crowd-pleaser and never fails to raise excitement and enthusiasm while on stage.
Benny has shared the stage with such notable jazz musicians as Trumpeter Ray Codrington, Guitarist Melvin Sparks, Trombonist and Arranger Slide Hampton, bassist Percy Heath, drummer Winard Harper, Saxophonist Ron Blake, Trumpeter Eddie Henderson, and New Orleans’ Dirty Dozen Brass Band. He has also opened for roots rocker Edwin McCain and RatDog, with legendary Guitarist/Vocalist Bob Weir and Bassist Rob Wasserman and performed with James Browns’ “Soul Generals”.
Daniel Butler is a NEW, refreshing comedian on the National comedy scene. His unique blend of Southern-fried, cynical observations, mixed with his high energy persona, makes for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
Daniel will take his audience down the humorous dirt road less traveled, and lead them to the paved streets of political incorrectness. So jump in your truck, put the dog in the passenger seat, and throw your old lady in the back, and join Daniel for an evening you soon won’t forget… what else would you expect from a North Carolinian of Indian / Irish decent… certainly not a perfect driving record.
Daniel has opened for such notable comedians as Bobby Collins, Tim Wilson, and Basile. He is currently touring nationally and internationally as the opening act for Basile. Daniel is a documentary film maker and he also writes comedic material, teleplays, and screenplays exclusively for SpiceRack Entertainment and for Spend the Egg Money productions.

Center stage will be El Jaye Johnson and the Port City All Stars, a collection of some of the most talented musicians along the coastal regions of North and South Carolina, Sherome Clay – keys and vocals, RJ on Bass – bass and vocals, Myron Butler – drums. CVNC Online Arts Journal Barry Salwen remarked of the Port City All Stars; “El Jaye graced the stage at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC, along with five seasoned musicians… Cleverly titled ’The Rhythm is Gonna Get Ya!’ El Jaye Johnson and the Port City All Stars painted a musical ‘picturescape of rhythm and melody,’ which utilized a palette of Caribbean, Latin, Jazz, Reggae, Funk and R&B. One would either be tone deaf or lifeless to not experience toe-tapping and hand clapping karma emitting from the stage.
